Her gait was slow as she proceeded forward following the river. "You seem in an awfully good mood...this morning" Faramond yawned stretching out his wings while hanging upside down from her necklace. She wouldn't deny that she wasn't. They had come from the North where it was cold. Colder than she liked but nonetheless she was able to meet an interesting male. Her tail swayed slightly in the breeze, sapphire eyes danced across the open landscape of a meadow as she stopped briefly. Eyes drifted to the sky just beginning to see some of the sun's rays filtering through some clouds. Finally, she could soak up some warmth and energy.

But she knew it wouldn't last long. When winter set in, there would be days where the sun could be out and yet it was still cold due to the wind blowing. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought of it but she stepped out into the meadow, further out at least to catch some rays but still close enough to cover to sneak off if she needed to. Lengthy body stretched forward, joints popping as if they had been in hibernation. With a quick sweep around, she laid down being sure to not wake her sleeping companion. Her own eyes closed as she began taking in some warm rays of light although her ears still rotated to the still unfamiliar sounds around her.

Freya's empty stomach gave a wild growl, her joints ached from her constant circling. Searching for something, anything that moved during the night. As the temperature had grown colder, the rabbits stopped moving at night, the squirrels were going in for hibernation. Worry gripped her fragile heart as she stretched out her wings into a glide. letting herself descend slowly as the sun came up over the horizon. She hated hunting during the day, she was so visible, so exposed. Though she knew she had too. It was as she wrapped her talons around the branch of a wobbling tree that she heard a voice. Her form went rigid as Honey gently wrapped himself against the base of her neck.

"You seem in an awfully good mood...this morning"

Freya's breath hitched in her throat, who was in a good mood? Were they friendly? Were they mundane? No that was silly, they couldn't have been a mundane, that voice was not one of a wolf, but one of a familiar. She shakily looked over her shoulder and saw forms moving in the growing sunlight. Her tongue feeling dry in her maw when she gazed upon the size of the woman that laid in the grass. How striking her pelt was against her own muted pale blue, the value that she held about her neck. Her stomach reminded her of the last time she met with a stranger, how he had been tracking a rabbit, how she had snatched the meal from under his nose. How he had gifted her more food, maybe...Maybe this woman had food. The image of a small fawn laying next to the woman entered Freya's mind. Her belly grumbling happily at the fantasy. Oh, it just had to be true!

Freya slowly unhooked her talons from the branch and flew down to where the woman laid, circling a moment before coming in for a landing. Her hind paws hit the earth softly but it was her chest that made a small thumping noise when she landed, knocking the breath out of her momentarily as she weakly heaved herself to balance on her two legs. Her wings drooped towards the earth when she came to realize there was no food here, no...no no it had to be on the other side! Hidden in the grasses! She weakly hobbled around the woman, stumbling as she tried to even out her weight, using her wings to balance herself. Her body froze when her tummy gave a loud rumble, the noise harsh to her own ears, her gaze shakily went to the form of the former sleeping woman, suppressing a wine she squeezed her eyes shut and hunkered into the ground. Her wings folded around her body in a makeshift shield, praying she was asleep, praying she would grow bored and leave.

Her body slowly relaxed at the warmth being taken in, head dropping slightly. Peaceful, that's what it was this morning. But it was short-lived as a small thud sounded just a bit from her. Sapphire orbs snapped open as head rose to look upon a small winged wolf. Quickly taken aback as she watched the female stumble around her. Slender banner swept up closer to her body. Isias had never seen such appendages on a wolf then again, she hadn't seen a wolf so small either. Not really feeling threatened, she kept quiet with only the slightest tilt of her head.

Maybe she was just curious about Isias? Her eyes started to shut again as she thought that maybe she would go away if she didn't say anything. Then she heard it. The loud rumble of a familiar sound she had heard sometimes herself. Was she hungry? Did she think that Isias had any food? Perhaps even to share it? Her vocals were soft but still in a warning jester. "I dislike liars more than I do thieves. I do hope you are nither dear." Her eyes went back to the winged one, finding her now eyes closed and having hunkered down to the ground with her wings pretty much covering her body. With a slight shake of her head, the woman stood up slowly, plumage at the end of her tail gently brushing over the tiny woman. "You seek to satisfy your hunger?" she asked softly.

And before she could have time to answer, Isias turned away heading back towards the trees giving her tail the briefest flick for the female to stay she spoke, "Stay put". "What happened?" Faramond asked still sleepy. "Rest" she answered back to him softly finding where she had stashed a rabbit. It had been three due to her getting too excited about hunting but she had eaten two of them. Her jaws opened to grasp the meal and she turned back, walking back over to the wolf she dropped it silently nodding her head for her to eat first.

"I dislike liars more than I do thieves. I do hope you are nither dear."

Freya whimpered as she pressed herself into the ground. A soft sob broke out from her lips as she wept her apologies into the dirt, she was a thief! A dirty rotten thief! Her words were incoherent, hardly audible as Honey burrowed himself into her neck trying to aid her. He tried to explain that everything was alright, emphasis on tried. He looked up to the woman that came over, cringing internally as her tail came to pass over Freya's body.

"You seek to satisfy your hunger?"

Freya nodded dramatically, trying to make it known that she was saying yes, she wasn't a lier! She was telling the truth!! Honey tugged on her ears trying to make her look up at her helper to show her she was grateful. Freya's eyes slowly peeked out between her feathers, the seafoam pools wide enough to reveal the whites as she gazed up at the female before her. Holding eye contact for a fraction of a second before her gaze fell down to the woman's paw.

"Stay put"

"Y-yes ma'am." The girl squeaked, her voice crackly from her neglected use of her vocals, huddling further back into the dirt and grass as she waited for the woman to get back anxiously, watching the dark form move further and further away from her. Worry crept into her stomach that she would be forgotten again, or or maybe she should escape. Yes yes! She could fly away now! Honey lightly nipped her ear at that, shaking his head and whispering that she needed food and to wait until the woman came back.

Isias watched as the winged girl wept dramatically, causing her companion to wake. "What did you do to the poor girl?" he asked between a yawn. What had she done? Well, for starters she had just given up the rest of her meal. She hadn't been aggressive in the least bit. Had she really wanted to she could've easily taken a snap at those pretty wings that the gal had. "Isias" Faramond said, aloud drawing her from her thoughts. "I didn't harm the girl in the least bit. Honest." she replied back sitting upon her haunches. "You know you aren't the most...inviting person." the bat spoke from his hanging place.

The woman sighed, rolling her eyes before looking back to the girl. What was she supposed to do now? Apologize? 'Yes' Faramond answered her mental thought. Ears swiveled back briefly before she spoke lowering her frame closer to the ground. "Come now child, do not weep." she started, her tone softer than it had been. Was that good? Her tail swept over to the girl to gently touch her. "I didn't mean to frighten you, honestly. Can- DO you have a name?" she asked slightly curious of her now. And why would she resort to stealing someone else's food. Lowering her head she nudged the rabbit she had caught closer to her hopefully showing she really didn't mean any harm.

Freya cursed herself as the woman started to come back, no she'd missed her chance! Honey chided her again, smacking her ear and telling her quietly to stay put.

"Fefe just relax... she has food."

Freya's ears perked at that, slowly peeking through her feathers to see the woman now standing before her, with some sort of winged animal as a familiar, and the closer Freya looked she realized that it was one of the bats that she often saw darting around the trees at night. She pressed her chest into the dirt and snapped her wings back into place hiding herself when the woman sat down next to her, and lowered herself to Freya's level before a soft voice touched her ears.

"Come now child, do not weep."

Freya's form gave a small jolt when she felt a tail sweep across her frame, though she didn't weep like she had earlier, this time she stayed quiet, seafoam eyes wide as saucers as she let a few feathers slide away from her face to see the woman a bit better.

"I didn't mean to frighten you, honestly. Can- DO you have a name?"

"F-freya."
She squeaked almost immediately, her voice clipping off sharply at the end when her eyes found the rabbit the woman nudged, the scent overwhelming her senses and blurred all thoughts but the hunger that settled in her stomach. She slowly raised one of her mighty wings, the limb stretching out fulling revealing her mangled forelimbs that were hastily wrapped in a bandage, a single mutated hind leg reached out, at first seeming like any other paw hidden by curly tangles of hock fur. That was until it hovered over the rabbit, she thrust her foot forward to reveal the dagger-like claws and close to being separated toes, like an owl's talons she snatched the rabbit by its neck with blinding speed before taking off straight up into the air in an offwhite dart. The sounds of bones breaking and tearing of flesh along with the beats of wings as she fed in a spaztic frenzy. Honey was left on the ground to look up at the tall woman with a small awkward smile. It wasn't over a minute of this frenzied display that Freya's form touched the ground again in front of the woman, surrounding them was the bones and a few select organs that contained distasteful acidity. Freya's red-tinted tongue swept over her lips as she stared at the woman. The rabbits particularly marred head and neck along with most of the skeleton was still clutched in her talons, her form crouched down low to the ground with her wings slightly open for balance. She didn't hide now, instead, she simply watched, waiting for this woman to share her name too.

She held onto her position as she waited for the smaller female to come around patiently. As she moved her wing slightly to peek at her, Faramond spoke. "Don't worry. My companion seems to find enjoyment in teasing others but I assure you, she wouldn't harm you. She's actually a big softie." Isias' jaw tightened slightly at his words. Sometimes the bat would say just too much. But for once she did not shush him. The woman knew what she had done and was trying her best to make up for it. The little woman then spoke her own name. Musing over it briefly, it suited her. "Ah, such a pretty name" Faramond replied before she could again. "Yes it is" she spoke a moment later going along with him.

Isias continued to watch Freya as she finally started to come out of her shell. Noticing now, the bandages around her front limbs. 'Oh dear.' Faramond spoke to her mentally. 'I see it as well.' she replied. 'Who could harm such a pretty wolf?' he wondered and Isias simply blinked in silence as Freya soon snatched the rabbit up before taking off into the air. Her head tilted at the female as she ate almost like a savage. "Poor gal was starving" Faramond said and Isias gave a small breath out before Freya landed back in front of her looking at her silently. Isias blinked looking away slightly thrown off but then slightly cleared her throat saying "My name is Isias and this know-it-all is Faramond." She sat up slightly now that Freya seemed a bit more relaxed.

"Poor gal was starving"

While Freya was feeding it was Honey that looked up to the duo and cleared his throat. Not quite knowing how to introduce himself yet, it was always so strange when they met new wolves, which was quite rare so his experience in this whole breaking the ice thing was lacking. It was after Freya landed with her stance rigid and unmoving that Honey finally decided to shake the tension brewing in the air, it seemed the tall woman did too because she cleared her throat and introduced herself and her familiar.

"My name is Isias and this know-it-all is Faramond."

Freya continued to stare at the pair, her eyes falling to the bat Faramond with the same wide gaze she always seemed to hold. Her wings twitching as she rocked back and forth to keep herself steady. Honey huffed and jumped onto of Freya's back, scrambling up to her head he gently poked her nose so she would snap out of her little trance. It worked for the most part, Freya did stop stareing, her gaze firmly on the woman's paws now, shaking slightly in her place but not moving to cover herself just yet.

"My name is Honey, this as ya know is lil Freya, she doesn't talk much." The glider chirped, a warm smile upon his little lips as he stuck out one of his paws to as if he were to shake hands with the bat, but as Freya leaned away from the pair Honey was forced to awkwardly brush his paw against his side and sit down on her head. Freya's eyes had slowly found the bat again, finding him rather comforting in comparison to Isias. Though she figured if the woman really wanted to hurt her, she would have done so by now. Freya slowly looked back down at the mangled skeleton squeezed in her talons, she spread her wings out a bit further for balance and slowly held the rabbit by the head up to Isias, a questioning look on her face as she mumbled out a small.

"Why?"

Faramond, Male Bat

Isias just sat there avoiding Freya's gaze. Ears went slightly back out of awkwardness. Okay now what? She had fed the gal. 'Could ask why she would resort to taking someone's meal?' Faramond asked her mentally. 'And risk her trying to possibly claw my eyes out. You saw her eat that rabbit.' Isias spoke back to him though there was sarcasm behind her thoughts. Her attention was then on the small creature that cleared his throat. What in the world was this creature? It was as big as Faramond was. He introduced himself as Honey and that they already knew Freya. Well, that was something they had in common. Isias was still getting a handle on talking as well.

Faramond had gotten ready to extend his wing out to greet this other flyer but Freya had moved back a little. "It is nice to meet you both." Faramond spoke now with a smile on his face. It wasn't often he got to meet others that were close to his size. Isias looked back to Freya as she adjusted herself before lifting the rabbit skull up asking a simple why. Why?

That was a good question as to why she had fed her. Part of it was because Faramond had scolded her. She didn't like when the bat was upset. It only made her days more irritating. "...I..." she started but couldn't think of a quick reason as to why. Her eyes went to the area around them. Faramond clenched on tighter to her body as he made his way to her shoulder. "I wouldn't have eaten it later anyway..." she settled with looking to the ground. It was the less threatening words to say right now, right? And it was true, she had just gotten greedy with the thrill of the hunt.
