Calix Kyrimm

“Don’t waste your time looking back, your not going that way”

It had been close to four years since his coven had been brutally taken from him. Even tho this day he still had no idea who had came to his home and murdered his family and friends. Many nights he would go back to where his coven had claimed years ago, back to Mount Naria. Slowly he would cross the paths, check the dens trying to find anything that he could grab and take back to his own den but he had only been able to find a few things that were worth saving. The pelts that his mother and father had slept on was one of the things he took back. He had also found small trinkets and other things that he hid in his own den. But here he was now about to claim his own lands, for his coven that he was bringing back to life. Calix took a deep breath as he stood at the edge of the water looking over the area.

It would be the perfect place, at least he thought so. There were plenty of places for them to have dens, water was plentiful, and food was easy enough to find, especially when the animals traveled from grazing lands. The brute would only hope that others would follow him, he had talked to Isias about it and she seemed like she was for it. Of course, his brother would join but he was sure that Sohv would travel often which was ok with Calix. He knew that Sohv would be loyal to him and he was fine with Sohv traveling a lot. After all, he figured that sohvren would always return home, and maybe one day he would bring whoever he went to see so much back and they could join the coven. As he walked around the lake edge he turned up towards the sky and smiled. It would be a lovely night to have the gathering. As Calix walked into the lake stream rolled up around him. He took in a deep breath as he lifted his head up towards the sky.

Letting out a powerful howl, smoke emitted from his maw in the cold air. He was claiming the Lake as him home for his coven and those who wise to join him. Anyone was welcome to come, he wouldn't turn anyone away as long as they valued family and keeping the coven safe and protected. Never again would they be wiped out again. He wouldn't let it happen again.

It was no surprise to him that his brother had decided to found a new coven. Calix had been showing signs of loneliness for years, and the male had always been in line to be the next coven leader, had it survived. What was surprising to him was the timing. Had the fiery black female persuaded him, he wondered?

They hadn't found a time to speak privately in months. It seemed Nidria was flush was activity these days. While this was good news for Sohvren and his travels, he wondered at that.
The rumors that the fog covering Nidria from the outside had lifted had left him unsettled. The rumors that his old coven, as well as Calix's, were not the only ones that had disappeared left him even more so.
A plot was in motion. What it was, Sohvren wasn't sure.

With these thoughts in his head, he trode to his brother's side. Calix already knew Sohvren would be scarce at best, and yet had always insisted he be second in command. A small smile tugged at his scarred lips that. The purple male had always been the brother he'd needed growing up. Almost loyal to a fault. The frown returned to his countenance, worry replacing his fondness. The fact that he wouldn't always be there to be Calix's eyes and ears was almost as unsettling as the rumors of covens going missing.

The lake would be a good base, Sohvren noted, eyeing the lay of the land with a practiced eye. The tree line offered both shelter and coverage, while the easy access to water would help keep them strong. However, the easy access to water also made it a high traffic area, for not only game and wildlife, but beasts and predators alike.
Ideas were forming in his head about fortifying the borders, regular patrols and the like. But first, he'd need to see their numbers.

The black and tanned wolf strode to Calix's purple side, a dip of his head his formal greeting for a brother and friend. Reeva immediately floated to Calix's side, snuggling tightly against the plush fur on his back and falling promptly to sleep. The sand of the beaches left enough scents, new and old, prey and wold alike, blazing through his nostrils that he knew he'd need to speak with Calix about it sooner rather than later. Maybe after the meeting he'd steal him away.

Until then, he settled comfortably next to his brother's side, a formidable looking skulled wolf of muscle and stoicism. A guard, a protector, the right paw of the alpha. He waited for them to come.

Laxton

"Everyone has a purpose, everyone has a place."

Laxton dragged his paws slightly as he walked around, getting the lay of the area. He sniffed the air, taking in all the older scents that surrounded it. He'd be lying if he said he didn't miss the canyon, but he felt like Calix was giving him a place to belong. And he was very skeptical about the whole 'coven' thing. Aside from different traditions and things it sounded just like a pack though, which he could get behind. He just hoped he didn't have a repeat of his previous pack. He didn't know if he could come back from another experience like that.

His ears shot forward as he heard Calix's howl calling for wolves to come to him. Without even a second thought he let his paws take him towards the howl, and before he knew it he stood before Calix, and a wolf he'd not yet met. He nodded his head to Calix. "I have come," she says, eyeing the wolf next to Calix, having not met him before, therefore being unsure of him. Laxton did not trust easily, and something about this stranger made him feel uneasy, probably mostly because he reminded him of the wolves of his old pack. They were practically made of muscle and would push others around just because they were bigger than them.

He looked back to Calix. "I have come to join the coven," he says, his voice coming more readily than he expected with the apprehension he was feeling about the whole coven idea. Perhaps there was just something within him that felt he was needed here. That or he was just that desperate to be with others again. While he had his trust issues, the life of a loner was not for Laxton. He still enjoyed having the company of others. He stood resolutely as he awaited Calix's response.

Her body stretched out as she lay in the den, her own of course this time. Calix had offered for her to stay in one of her own to which she was glad and grateful to have but now she had gotten somewhat used to having the male's presence around. She huffed before getting up while Faramond slept. He spent more of his time in the den now to rest during the day and pretty much up all night. Slipping out the den, she took in a deep breath of cold air before walking out towards the lake.

Tail swept over the ground before she looked off over the lake. Once you got used to it, it wasn't so bad this far north. Cold eyes then switched to wander through the trees and she took in another breath before walking alongside the water's edge. Then she paused as her ears perked up hearing a howl. That was Calix's howl. She let her paws lead her in the direction.

Isias didn't take long to get to his location before she noticed two other scents. Both males as well. One she briefly met before and the other didn't. She hung back amongst the trees, her form silent as she watched. Mostly to see if Calix noticed her presence plus, this time she was actually being like a predator.

A howl sliced through the stillness of the air with enough tenacity to broker the striped pixie's attention. Her skull lifted and the illusions created from bent light dancing around her paused in their folly. The lithe, almost disproportionately long fae found herself captivated and curious to the sound. Was it a call for help? A call of purpose? A call of claim or something else entirely? Her tail rippled, waving like a curious banner behind her rump and with a mischievous smile, her muscles flexed and she bounded, lunging into an easy gallop.

With her attention broken, some of the creatures who fancied to play with her faded, leaving only a few faeries to glitter and shine around her. She broke through the line of trees, sliding right past a rather hidden female to step out into view. She paused as a male with only a few less stripes than she asserted himself as the source? She grinned, a Cheshire thing and padded forward. He looked just like her! Siblings maybe? Twins! How silly, but not impossible, she was ripped away from her family as a babe by... by... her heart stuttered, her memory failed her and she shook it off.

"Such a lovely howl... why have you sung?" Childish curiosity defined her and her skull canted to the right. Curiouser and curiouser indeed.
