He only ever knew the changing of the seasons by the surrounding scenery. Now, it was the crisp, biting chill of ice in the air, the kind that might sting his nose, had he been anyone else. But he was some thing else, instead. The cold had gripped him long ago and ceased to release him since. And with the cold, came something else. The snow that covered the satin blossoms of the cherry trees was nothing more than an addition to his visual surroundings, the man having grown used to ice chased by the bitter numbness that accompanied it. But with it, there seemed to linger a sense of danger, as though the cherry trees cowered under their blizzard blankets. An uneasy hush silenced the forest as a damp pink nose trailed vertical to the ground. An ivory female cut between the trees, pale rose eyes wide with fear. She was certain that she'd seen something moving nearby, more than a couple of times since she'd entered the forest of pink trees. And now she could only sense the tension, alarm flooding her and driving her forward, quickly and jaggedly among the trees. While this forest might have once been inviting to the albino woman, it certainly no longer was.

Weaving swiftly as she tried to find somewhere to hide, she felt as though she were putting some distance between herself and whatever pursued, until a towering black figure appeared right before her. The ghoulish looking male was much too close for comfort, the petite ballerina of a wolf stumbling back, jaws opening out of fear. Just as she reeled back, he disappeared again, leaving her hyperventilating and scrambling forward. Nocturne could smell the adrenaline pouring off her like a dying wave, thick and drowning his senses. Her heart beat slammed in his ears as he moved swiftly, melting into the shadows of the ground just to appear just a few steps behind her and using this method to keep up with her as she fled. He followed for what seemed many minutes, the fox clearly unaware that she was running in the opposite direction from the nearest border of the Plantation. There would only be more cherry trees to shy away from her, shielding themselves from the violence that would ensue.

The white woman had not strayed too far from her place of arrival. She was still unsure of what she was going to do, so she had remained in the east. Despite the changing seasons she had felt no real need to travel into the heart of Nidria, in fact, she would rather stay away from it. She was partially still trying to make sense of the magick and gods that Olu had told her about, but since that encounter she had not experienced anything of the sorts.

She shivered slightly as she walked on frostbitten ground, there was no doubt that winter had arrived and it brought with it an unsavoury chill. The northerly wind was not only crisp, but carried that faded scent of cherry blossom. She found herself waltzing towards the smell, she had not seen cherry blossoms in many years and despite the cold touch of winter, she hoped that there would still be a few blossoms on the trees.

It was not too long before she had found herself at the edge of what seemed to be a magnificent plantation. The trees were covered in a blanket of snow, a few blossoms visible here and there. As she waltzed through the trees slowly there was something lingering at the back of her mind, she was tense and cautious. Careful steps guided her further into the plantation, soon there were only cherry blossoms to see in all directions. The surroundings were eerily quiet, and as she stopped it seemed as if there was nothing else in the area. She stood beneath a tree, branches bending low under the compiling weight of snow and blossoms. She sniffed at the air, it was cold but it was sweet, intoxicating.

She stood for a minute before she heard frantic steps, somebody was running. She perked up slightly, watching her surroundings and mentally preparing herself for whatever was coming her way. The steps were getting closer, and every so often it seemed that a second pair would appear and disappear just as quick. As she kept her eyes on her surrounding she noticed a flash of white against the tree trunks, camouflaged in part against the snow, but not enough. As the woman focused, the flash of white became more distinct it was a petite albino lady.

Reis watched behind the frantic lady, trying to see what she running from but nothing seemed clear. She wasn't sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her, or if she was just going insane. Yet, she seemed to see a large black figure chasing after the lady, but it disappeared and reappeared slightly closer to her than previously every so often. She watched quietly, whatever was happening she didn't want to interfere, it's not like she knew the small lady anyway.

She just crouched below the tree, watching as the small lady seemed to come closer and closer.

WARNING: DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF GORE.

Seconds dragged out to feel like minutes as he flickered along side her to keep up. Panicked, she sought any exit that might grant her even the slightest hope of safety, small paws scrambling to keep herself away from the danger. She was swift, he'd give her that, though it wouldn't save her. Primitive instinct overwhelmed him then, a predator's hunger launching him forward out of the shadows at a diagonal angle toward the female, lunging for her in one swift motion to barrel into her side like an obsidian spear. Jaws wide, he aimed them with precision, targeting her shoulder and snapping his jaws shut when he felt his sharp front teeth shove into her coat.

Her smell completely enveloped his senses, making him unaware of a wandering female that was within sight of the monster and his prey as the chaos spilled across the purity of the cherry blossoms. His assault would not kill her, not yet. Once she was in his mouth he intended to bring her to the ground where he would have an advantage, Nocturne's front half dropping nearly dead weight in a strange twist as he held onto her to force her into the snow. Unable to brace herself, the woman contorted against her will, letting out a squealing cry of terror as she smacked into the cutting surface of ice.

He contained his descent by tactfully moving his opposite front leg underneath the same shoulder that contacted the ground with a heavy thump, pushing himself up and driving himself forward with his back legs to purchase the plush muscle of her throat before she had a chance to defend herself. A deep, primordial snarl accompanied his second attack, the sound aberrant and barbaric as his teeth drove deep into her neck and the taste of her life force burst onto his parched tongue, his front right paw stepping onto one of her front legs to hold her small claws from scratching more shallow wounds in the skin of his ankles and forelegs than she already had. Unable to make any noise at all, he rendered her helpless as his left hind leg moved to press on her hip.

Blood streamed from his jaws and spattered the ground as he swallowed the precious liquid, causing the woman to convulse and melting away some of the snow with a heavily contrasting red. As soon as he felt the onset of death briskly sweeping in, he let go, still entirely enamored by her scent and the thrill of hunting enough that he didn't realize there were watching eyes. Huffing in rapid breaths gasped between ragged snarls, the beast parted his jaws to let her go, watching her head roll in an uncontrolled slouch and catching his breath as the last of sparkling life left her eyes and the spasms of her muscles began to slow. The towering menace's vermilion pools glowed disturbingly as they peered into her own pools that were now glazed and lackluster, head tilting to get a better view of them as a black tongue snaked forward to smear plasma across his lips.

Gore Warning
The woman felt as if she was going to freeze if she lay in the snow for much longer, but she was not keen on revealing herself just yet. She watched eagerly as the lady sprinted, only to jump slightly as the black figure shot out of the shadows ramming into his target, it was now apparent to Reis that the black figure was indeed a wolf. It was only in the moment that the male latched onto the lady that she realised how large he actually was. Rose coloured eyes locked onto the pair, briefly meeting with the female's before her body was dragged down into the ice. Her ears twitched as the lady squealed, there was nothing she could do, not that she was going to help in the first place.

Reis sunk further into the snow, her eye level hovering slightly above in order to maintain her view of the events. As she watched on she couldn't help but take her eyes off the male, he was quick, and he clearly was thinking out everything before he did it. Her mind travelled back to when he appeared out of the shadows, she was impressed, it had seemed so flawless as he just poured out of the shadows. Despite this she still found it hard to wrap her thoughts around how wolves were able to harness such abilities.

She still didn't have a complete understanding of the powers around here, Olu hadn't exactly gone into detail about anything. From the examples she had seen, the magick seemed to vary. This wolf could travel between shadows, Olu could apparently disable magick, and she herself glowed slightly. Although she realised that this wolf seemed to control whatever he did, while she and Olu had no control. It made her wonder, just how much magick could these wolves harness.

The woman was snapped out of her thoughts as the man let loose a snarl causing her ears to twitch. She wondered just how long this attack would go on for, and for a moment she felt sympathetic for the small lady. As the male stood above the small lady, Reis guessed that she wouldn't last too much longer. As blood was spilt, her suspicions were confirmed. She rose a little out of the snow, it appeared the pair were about 10 metres away from her, which was a lot closer than she had originally thought. As she watched the female convulse in the male's jaws as the snow was soiled with blood.

She flinched slightly as the female's body was just dropped into the snow. She watched on carefully as the male stood above the lady, seemingly just examining his fresh kill. Slowly, Reis rose from her spot in the snow, "I would hate to be in her position right about now." Her eyes were locked onto the small lady as she let out a quiet chuckle. Much like the snow, her ivory coat was turning a dirty blood red. She looked up from the corpse to the man, watching the black monster carefully as he stood seemingly peering into the dead lady's soul.
