[AW]  Legend of the tomorrow

A young wolf of feathers upon her figure walked across the new land that with a big extension stood in front of her eyes. It was a vast land, with mountains at the end, the paws of winter gave the land a white carpet of snow, deep but smooth at the touch. After traveling several weeks, she found it sane to take a rest upon the snowy terrains, only for today thought, the traveller she was, pushed her to don't be in a single place for long, only as she saw needed. Good and water were her first priority, and thus she set her nose in order to attempt to track any prey. Rabbits were just fine as her alone wouldn't be be capable of bringing down a bison or elk, so for simplicity's sake she decided to go for something easier to catch.

Luckily she spotted a hare roaming clumsily of its surroundings. Slowly and as silent as she could, she lowered her body trying to sneak on the rodent. Cyan eyes staved at it like a falcon with its prey, focus was full, nothing alien to her and her prey would be able to distract her from her duty. And thus she placed herself at a few feet from them, and then she started to chase it off, attempting to kill it.

Sasu, Female African bush viper

The prospect of possible prey coming into the grasp of the bonded duo left them bemused at the thought. With winter coming upon the land, they had to take the chance when the opportunity presented itself. In such a wide open area, Sasu took to the ground while Melantha surveyed from the skies. She raised herself in the air for several feet with a quick flap of her fully expanded wings.

Melantha swept the expanse the blanket of snow for any lone creatures that would meet her expectations of a quick meal. A frown pulled at her features as her search proved fruitless. “ONE NEARBY—HURRY!” The familiar’s tone began as a whisper before turning into a shriek that reverberated harshly in her mind. A groan left her lips while she pulled her legs close to her body as she banked left to circle back towards the viper. If she was not quick enough the serpent would only grow louder. Her head throbbed from the sudden blare of sound that she shook her head as if that would eliminate the echo.

Coming close to the familiar’s general direction, Melantha came to realize the reason to make haste as a silhouette came into her vision. It was in the form of chase as she shifted her gaze to find the intention for such—a hare. With a light chuckle to herself, Melantha tucked her wings tight to her bodice as she initiated a dive downward towards the hare. Head bowed close to her chest as her eyes squinted from the harsh winds that whipped at her face and body. Melantha, at the last possible moment, flared her wings outward as hind legs extended to catch in her scaled feet. She gave a swift glance to the chaser out of her peripheral before focusing forward while taking the hind toe of her right foot to puncture the hare in its jugular. Forelimbs stretched with splayed talons as she clapped her wings twice to slow herself as front legs dug into the snow. Melantha released her clasp on the hare to have her hind legs plant into the snow. With the yield of the hare, Sasu slinked from her position to coil around the prey. Melantha folded her left wing as she skidded along to pivot herself around to face the stranger’s left side. She cleared her throat with a flutter of her wings before they settled at her side. Melantha shuffled forward to have Sasu inbetween her forelimbs. "SORRY, LOVE." Only for the fact the female was not fast enough. Her words a whisper on the wind as she inclined her head in a barely noticeable bow.

The yearling held her speed, not daring to slow down as her determination to end this pushed her forward, ignoring anything around her. Her only concern was catching the hare and get a meal tonight. After traveling for weeks with little rest she needed to restore her energy in the only way she knew of. And her natural stamina she was far from getting tired, and it was only a matter of time before the hare started to slow down, patience was key and patience was something Eir had to spare.

But, her focus made her ignore the flying wolf approaching. Not knowing her kill was about to be stolen upon her nose. All she felt concerned with was to catch it. Feathers danced with the wind as eyes of cyan narrowed upon the hare that with each second started to tire away. Her strategy was slowly bearing flowers.

But just before she could catch it, there she saw her. A winged wolf just taking what she had been working so hard to get. She stopped running as with hardened glare she saw how the wolf before her had her hare between their jaws.
"Huh." She sighed as she panted due to the excitation the chase gave to her lungs. And a mere sorry came from their mouth. Well, she could always try again, something like this wouldn't break her will of iron. Calmly and saying nothing else she walked away with nose upon the floor, aiming to look for another thing to eat.

"HMM," Head tilted to the right in confusion at the other female’s actions. Golden eyes took in the strong structure and height of the tawny-masked female that even towered over herself by several inches. "WAIT," Melantha paused in her inspection of the two-toned female when the other turned away.

Slender legs swayed her form forward before wings fluttered at her side for a brief moment then settled firmly against her flanks. Melantha paused in her movement from the sight of her familiar at her feet. A thoughtless act of a click of her tongue from seeing the enlarged serpent with a satisfied expression upon her face. "STARVING WERE YOU?" Muzzle crinkled in displeasure as she only received a long sigh of content echo in her mind. The serpent hastily coiled around her bonded’s foreleg to settle in between her shoulder blades.  Nostrils flared as she turned her attention back to the large female.

"DEAR,"
Melantha cooed softly as she quickened her pace. "WHY DON’T WE HUNT TOGETHER, YES?" She could deduct the other would look for another meal from it being taken right from under her nose. Who would not? With another hunter there was a possibility of higher success. "SPLIT THE MEAL, NO?" Voice sounding hopeful of the female’s agreement into the matter. All is well if both parties benefit at the end.

Cold eyes focused on finding something she could eat. This wasnt the first time someone stole her prey and thus mourning over it wouldnt fix anything. All about moving on and keep trying. But as she was about to take her to leave, the woman spoke. "WAIT." She stopped her march, looking over her shoulder to place her cyan eyes upon the other wolf, no emotion on her eyes, just hoping whatever they would say would be worth her time. "STARVING WERE YOU?" She wasnt going to respond that, she didn't want to be seen a weak, to be seen someone seeking to be saved, when she could easily save herself. She nodded shortly, not saying anything, for now, she just didn't want to.

"WHY DON’T WE HUNT TOGETHER, YES?" Cooperation was something she wasnt used to give, all she did was on her own without asking for help. She never did it. She had survived because of her own skills and determination to endure whatever the world wanted to throw her way. But she didn't have much energy as of now, almost all of it was gone with the chase, which ended up messed up by the woman before her. "Okay."

"SPLIT THE MEAL, NO?" She nodded again as she resumed her search for food with her nose. Tail low and relaxed muscles, she walked with all focus, with all senses placed upon the task. If they wanted to split the meal, a mere hare wouldnt be a good option. So a big hunt had to be done. A bison or moose would be fine hopefully. "Bison, Moose or elk?" She asked not giving eyes to the woman.
